Do you want to know my really underwhelming answer? It depends!
How to know how often you should eat to lose weight?
How do YOU like to eat?
Are you someone who likes to eat throughout the day? (Hello – you are speaking to my soul here). Then you might do better eating 5-6 smaller meals.
Are you someone who likes to see a full plate and to feel full after eating? Then you might to better eating 3 meals.
Are you someone who NEEDS to have an evening snack after wrestling all the kids to bed? (I feel like I’m raising my own hand a lot as I type this). Then you definitely want to make sure you allow yourself that evening snack!
The simple and boring truth is that it losing weight after 40 (well – this is actually true no matter how old you are) . . . anyway, losing weight requires a calorie deficit (not fun right?).
Repeat after me . . . there is no magic way to lose weight after 40!!
No magic pill, no magic exercise, no magic food ….
So here is the cool part – it doesn’t really matter how you create that deficit.
Like to eat often? Eat 6 times a day!
Like to eat a bigger meal? Eat 3 times a day!
Like to eat after the kids are in bed? Save some macros and plan a snack!
